Tornado Racing was founded in 1999 and our primary aim is to not only supply but to also support customers running largescale model cars and bikes. Colin and Steve Leake have been racing model cars and bikes for over twenty five years and have been involved with largescale racing since the formation of a BRCA section. Steve is also a former UK National Champion.
In 2001 we were appointed as the UK importer for the unique carbonfibre car - the RS5 by Modelcargo. If you wish to race your car then we can offer you every assistance, e.g. chassis set-up, engine tuning and tyre preparation. The RS5 has gone from strength to strength since its launch and in 2004 our factory driver, Ian Oddie, won the UK National Championship. Development continues and the latest version of the car is regularly near the front of the field at major races worldwide.
For 2005 we expanded to the rapidly growing off-road market and were appointed as the sole UK importer of the Elcon range of FG tuning products. These parts really are the ultimate in quality and whether you are a basher or a racer there will be something in the range for you. Parts are available for the Marder, Leopard, Monster Truck, Monster Beetle and Saloon cars. The racing pedigree of the parts was proved during our debut season in 2005 when our factory driver, Andy Knight, finished third in the UK National Championship.
For 2006 the new challenge was the world of RC bikes. From their humble beginnings these bikes are now sophisticated racing machines and we have our own range of high-tech tuning upgrades. All parts are produced using the latest CNC manufacturing techniques and the highest quality alloys. Whether you’ve broken a simple plastic body post or need something more sophisticated like a low effort front brake, we have the parts you need.
2007 looks to be exciting as we launch the KP07 racing bike. This carbon-fibre frame has been through an extensive winter testing programme and will be running in all major championships around the World.
